Paul Revere's Ride Poem

Paul Revere's Ride Poem

  • 1000

"Listen my children and you shall hear of the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere."  These words have been taught to generations of students.  The poem, although not completely accurate, has significant meaning.  Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, a known abolitionist, visited The Old North in 1860 and wrote this poem the following day. America was on the verge of the Civil War and Longfellow thought the message of the poem poignant to the time.  This copy of the poem, printed in the Printing Office of Edes and Gill is the complete prose along with a beautiful image of The Old North captured by artist Veronica Lawlor.
